Y (Wye) Strainers remove coarse debris from process lines and utility systems before that material reaches downstream valves, traps, heat exchangers, meters, and other equipment. The YS Series uses a unidirectional stainless steel Y-strainer design with a removable mesh screen element and female NPT threaded ends for inline installation.
This series is available in 1/2 inch to 2 inch sizes and uses a 304 stainless steel body, cap, and screen with a PTFE end seal. In addition, the design uses downward screen installation, so maintenance teams can remove trapped material more easily during routine service.

Size and Dimensions
The YS Series is available in compact threaded sizes for protecting downstream equipment in utility, industrial, and process lines. In addition, buyers should review both screen serviceability and installation space before final selection.

Pressure, Temperature, and Media Fit
The YS Series is rated to 800 psi and -4 to 356°F for water, oil, and gas service under non-shock conditions. As a result, it fits higher-pressure utility and process lines where operators need debris protection ahead of valves, traps, exchangers, and other inline equipment.
The PTFE end seal supports chemical resistance and temperature stability, but users should still confirm seal and body compatibility against the actual process media before final selection.

Technical Resources
Review pipe size, screen selection, and service conditions before final selection. In addition, for maintenance-heavy installations, buyers may want to surface the optional blow-out kit near the quote or accessories area rather than leaving it lower on the page.
- Download the YS Series spec sheet
- Confirm pipe size and thread connection before ordering
- Choose the standard or optional mesh size based on service needs
- Review blow-out kit availability by size

Technical Note
These strainers are not intended for use in medical life support, combustion, aviation, aerospace, automotive, or similar applications. Seal and body compatibility should be reviewed before final selection, especially where media chemistry, pressure cycling, or temperature could affect long-term performance.
